I think the free 2 year maintenance is through GM and not the dealer. I have it on my 2014. It covers oil changes and tire rotations to a maximum of 4 service visits over the 2 year coverage period. I don't put a lot of miles on my car so I take it to the dealer every 6 months and request a free oil change and tire rotation. The service department says that is fine by them and is covered by GM.

Be sure to skip the tire rotations on SS due to different. Size tires

You can rotate side to side on the Pirellis.

Helps a lot in preventing odd wear like cupping.

Yes, It is highly recommended to do so. My RS has the polished aluminum 20s with two different tire sizes as well.

2 years free maintenance

Owners manual may say axle fluid at a much higher mileage, at least for the SS. I did mine at 10000 prior to a vacation and track run. I had no visible metal.

I figure cant hurt, I did my own though so I only pay for the gear oil and buy the best I can get.

the rear end is metallic black at 500 miles. GM doesnt want to tell you you have to change fluids so soon and there $150 oil change on the rear end for 5 minutes labor to pull 2 plugs and $12 in fluid is ridiculous.

Some dealers make you wait until the DIC says your oil life is low. Others (mine included) don't care when you bring it in. I took mine in and got my first oil change at 1000 miles. I paid $30 extra for Mobil 1. It took them over two hours. My time is valuable and I decided then, that it would be the first and last time I would get it done at the dealer.

I changed it myself the next time. This car is the easiest oil oil/filter change I've ever done. It takes about 20 minutes tops, and that included getting it up on ramps. I serviced the differential too and that's even easier. No sense in waiting around on the dealer when it's a quick and easy job.

If you can unscrew a bolt, you can do your own oil and rear end services.
