Installed my Stainless Power Headers

Ok ive have been reading posts for the past few months on headers. I didn't want to spend a ton of money since I already had a 1200 dollar borla arak catback and wasn't happy with the sound. I got the Stainless Power 1 7/8 headers with the off road connectors. I live in kentucky so don't have to pass emissions thank god. These were a great choice great quality I believe they will last a long time. I don't really drive my car much anyway its a 10 and only has 6800 miles on it. Now on to the install everything was straight forward I am a car salesmen so I know a lot of the techs very well. One of my co workers had a lift in his home garage we installed there with hand tools his compressor was having problems. Didn't have any problems with my o2 sensors all 4 came off with no liquid wrench no nothing just a wrench. They were also cold when we took them out. Didn't disconnect the steering shaft had plenty of room. I recommend you have a lift or a friend with one for this install makes it a lot easier. We did this in less than 2 hours and had never done it on a camaro before. Everything fits great CEL came on 15 miles after install. Getting tune march 13th, runs great without tho. Plug wires had plenty of clearance no need to buy new ones also used factory gasket no problems. I recommend this to anyone who does drive there car daily because its super loud but defiantly sounds like a bad ass Camaro. If anybody's on the fence and wants to ask questions id be happy to help.

Congrats on the upgrade! Can't go wrong with Stainless Power headers. Great bang for the buck.

Congrats, glad everything went well with the install. I've been leaning towards SP as well.

Installed my Stainless Power Headers

I installed a set on my ZL1 this weekend as well! I love the sound, but I am getting a backfire and a misfire in cylinder 5. I'm thinking I cracked the spark plug maneuvering the headers in place. Once I get that fixed tonight all should be good!

Mine have HF cats and tied into my Noweeds diverters.

I do agree, these fit nicely without having to remove the steering shaft to install.

I removed the spark plugs I'm sure I would have damaged them. Can't wait for my tune. A lot of people say the smell of no cats smells awful smells like a muscle car to me. I love it!!!!

Always, ALWAYS remove the plugs when installing headers. So much easier, and no issues afterward.

I've definitely noticed a much more gassy smell from my exhaust. High flow cats definitely don't do the same job as the stock setup.

Yep, lesson learned. Broke one during install and now I'm assuming I cracked a second one right next to the broken plug.

+1

I went the same way you did with SP and no cats hooked up to my NPP (fuse pulled). Best money I've ever spent on a mod... this"woke up" my car with a noticeable power difference between the headers and the tune. Love these headers!
