Passenger seat damage

Need to replace the leather(vinyl?) on my 2010 2ss passenger seat. Got some bleach on it. Looks bad. Want to replace with OEM. Only a small spot on the part you sit on, not the back rest. Any suggestions on where to buy? Hard to replace? Thanks for any help.

If you can't dye it back to the original color you could have just that panel replaced.

Check out one of the many GM parts websites.

The OEM seat covers are easy to replace.

EDIT: I just found the OEM part numbers for the passenger side bottom seat and MSRP prices depending on what color your seats are. Google these part numbers and hopefully you'll find someone who is running a sale.

black: 92246871 $398
titanium: 92246872 $420
neutral: 92246873 $346

Why not try some leather dye? For the price of the dye and some sponges applicators, you might find that to be a simple and inexpensive fix. Just tape off the area first to prevent the dye from spreading to an area that it is not needed.

There was damage to the leather other than discoloration. Some of it was eaten away, but not all the way through. I will need to replace it. Thanks for the responses. Camaro5 is awesome.

Call some of the better upholstery shops. They can usually match the leather color and grain spot on and just replace the damaged section and you'd never know it was reparied. Not sure if they're using the "Detroit" books any longer which tells them exactly which material by number they can use to replace it stock for stock.

Or you could buy the whole cover but that's usually pretty pricey as you can see from the post above. And that's just getting the part. ($306 delivered from gmpartsdirect.com for the black one, 92246871)

Yeah. That's a good thought. May give that a shot. If I were to buy a replacement cover, is instillation difficult?

No and there are threads here on the subject. The bottom is more difficult than the seat back because you have to use the hog ring pliers to attach the cover to the lower structure.

This may cost you $400 no matter what. Maybe you should source a pre-owned passenger seat like from a 2012 then you could have a passenger power seat as well.
