Painted Strut Tower Brace and Engine Cover
I have been really slow at posting the pictures because I had this done early this summer. I painted my engine cover and my strut tower brace and had my dealer install the strut tower brace. This is the first time I painted anything like this. I think it looks pretty good even though the letters did not turn out as well as I would have liked. I used a rattle can of Synergy Green paint that I got from paintscratch.com. Here is a before and after picture of my engine.

Looks great. Can I ask how you highlighted the V8 and Camaro in another color?

I used liquid mask on the letters. I used to race RC cars and that is what I used to paint the bodies on them. I put on 3 coats of the liquid mask and I let it dry for 2 days. Then I used an x-acto knife to cut out just the letters. This was so frustrating because it was hard to get it to cut clean cut. So like on the letter E it would peel more then what you wanted away and then you could not get it to stick down again. I ended up trying to cut small pieces of masking tape to tape off some of it. Then when I painted it, it bleed under the mask. If your standing a few feet away from the car it looks good. I know I am rather picky but IMHO the letters look like crap if you look up close. There has to be a better and easier way to do it. I asked here, searched the internet and even stopped at body shops and asked them how they would do it. The answer I got the most was to use a steady hand, and that I don't have.
