2015 2ls differential sway
hey guys I need help. I am in the middle of a diff swap on my 2015 2ls automatic. I am installing a v8 diff with 3.45 gears and posi from a manual 2013 ss. bought complete rear with cradle. it is in the car but driveshaft will not hook up. I need to know what shaft I need to make this work. the pinion yoke is larger on the ss part. next option is to have driveshaft modified. thank for your help and time. first time posting on a forum.

Sounds like you are going from 3.27 ratio to the 3.45? Interesting to see the jump in 0-60 time. The posi-traction does a great job minimizing tire spin on launch in the SS and will make a huge difference on your RS which tends to do long burnouts without it. Reminder: when changing fluid be sure to look at the correct spec in the Owners Manual ... the SS posi requires the little ~ 4 ounce bottle of AC Delco limited slip friction modifier to be added first before the axle lubricant. Are you going to have them re-calibrate so speedometer reads correctly for the new differential gearing/wheel size?

The OP will see an 18% increase in rear wheel torque. I am curious as to how the brake bias is going to work out.

I have been considering this mod also. Did you run into anything else that you had not considered and any words of wisdom for this mod?

Ron123 Mine is the 2ls so I had the 2.92 gear. should be much quicker now. Waiting on the programmer I ordered from Jegs so I can fix the speedo.

CamaroFred the best I ever got was 25mpg. I do city/highway combo on by drive. don't expect to lose to much hoping 1 - 1.5 mpg. I have driven it about 30 miles see no change in braking.

MyLocalDJ this is a very simple swap. I believe if I would have swapped an automatic rear I would not have needed the rear driveshaft from the ss. Since I went with the manual it has a larger yoke so the coupler would not fit. this is a easy swap with a helper I completed the swap in 7 hours.

Before the differential swap the car had run a best of 9.09 in the 1/8. Hoping for 8.80's. Just waiting on the programmer an I have to replace one wheel hub assembly making noise. the rear is from a salvage yard. It had some bent brackets.
