Muffler delete sound volume

I have 15 SS 1LE 6MT with a base exhaust and a CAI intake, and I want to increase the sound just a bit, so that the car sounds a little more enthusiastic. Searching around, a muffler delete seems like a popular solution here.

What I want to figure out is exactly how loud will it make my car during normal street driving? Will I be able to carry a conversation while going 80mph? Will it drone at highway speeds? Will I attract cops from a mile away accelerating of the traffic light with normal traffic flow? In comparison to a typical aftermarket cat-back setup, is it much louder, just as loud, not as loud?

I don't mind it being loud at WOT, but it should not be annoying or tiring during normal driving. It's my daily driver an I put on 15k miles per year.

Again, its an LS3 base exhaust, and I have an CAI intake.

Thanks in advance!

Muffler delete will be a little louder but nothing to draw attention from the law or prevent you from having a conversation. I did the delete on mine and have been happy with it. I still want more sound so i plan to have the resonator (l99) and h pipe removed and an x pipe installed. Also the stock mufflers are huge and heavy so you lose some pounds as well as improve the sound.

If you consider stock at say a 4 out of 10. Muffler delete would be around a 7. Sounds good all the way around. With no drone...some say it does but it doesn't.

I say do the muffler delete to start, prob the cheapest way to go. And see how you like it. With the LS3 the delete sounds awesome compared to stock. My dad has the same set up and sounds very good. Iam jealousy with my L99 with muffler deletes!

With the LS3 and muffler delete, it sounds like it should sound from the factory. Then you take it from there if you want louder. I only wish the L99 sounded that good with the delete.

People that do muffler delete with L99 will be much more quiet because of that huge resonator. If your gonna do longtube headers in the future don't do muffler delete because it will be too loud for you. Well I guess it doesn't matter it's only $100 try it out! Keep your stock H-pipe and resonators or get the resonated x-pipe from Magnaflow and u will have a good tone and pretty much a Catback.

Has anyone else heard it on the manual car with LS3?

L99 will clearly sound different due to additional resonators and fundamentally different engine tuning. Plus, anyone with L99 will have a different stock reference point. Even the mufflers are different between L99 and LS3.

I did the muffler delete with my LS3 about a year after owning my camaro. At first it was good. Then it got old really fast. The drone was really bad. I just ran the stock system and muffler delete for about a year. To me it was bad enough that I didn't want to drive it. But that's just me. I HATE drone and you will have drone.

I don't know what outlaw is talking about. It's not that loud lol and there really is no drone. I did it on my LS3 many other people will say the same thing as me. Now put headers on and it's a different story.

With the stock cats in place it is not crazy loud. You shouldn't have any problems from the police or with carrying on a conversation. However, depending on your sensitivity to drone that could be problem. Another option to consider that would do the same thing but avoid the drone would be a Solo axle back with J-pipes.

Any risk that the j-pipes will cause some power loss?

No. Mine doesn't drone at all though. Noise levels at 80mph in 6th are comfortable.

My muffler delete had zero drone. I'm not sure what others are experiencing.
