2015 Camaro SS What Engine Block is interchangable?

Hello,

im from Europe and having some trouble with my 2015 Camaro SS 6.2 Automatic with the L99 Engine.

I have a broken cylinder (crack) and it cant be repaired (crack is also in the block itself).

So now im searching for another Option.

Can you please help me out what 6.2 engine block is intetchangable with my current L99 Block?
I want to remove dod so i can remove the crapy active lifters.

I could get an LT1 Engine out of a C7 but dont know if i could use that block/heads with my Camaro parts?
I know the lt1 has dry sump but if my oil sump would fit it maybe could be changed to wet sump like the L99 has.

The main problem is that thetr is no L99 engine avaiable in Europe - i cant find a used one.
Thanks alot for your help!

Regards,

Flo

Any LS 6.2 will work iron or aluminum, dod block or LS3 based.

L99, LS3, or L94 blocks would work. Those are all Gen IV motors. LT1 is Gen V and not compatible with your other existing components.

I would buy an LS3 crate motor and be done with it. No more DOD and all new parts that your existing components will work with.

Would an L92 empty block also work with my L99 internals?

Just a quick internet search would indicate that the L92 had variable valve timing but only early ones had cylinder deactivation (DOD/AFM). If you can't turn off DOD in the tune due to emissions requirements, you would have to replace the cam and DOD components on the L92 with L99 parts.

Pretty much all of the LS engines will work, but probably none are a 100% drop in. You are going to have to research what changes you cam make in Germany.

Even if you have a different series of engine that has all of the required "features" they may still need tweaking to make them function 100% (especially in the tune) and again is that allowed in Germany.
