Is my H pipe supposed to have a dent in it?

I started to install some bushings on my camaro tonight. I noticed that my passenger side exhaust pipe has a weird dent or flat spot on the top of the pipe. It is on the top of the pipe so is not like something came up and hit it. Also it looks too "perfect" to be a random ding. It looks like it was done on a machine. Does anyone know if this is normal from the factory or what might have caused this?

That's normal, factory dent. I believe it helps reduce exhaust drone.
