Z28 BRAKE DUCT KIT ON 2015 ZL1

Hello,
Just wondering if any of you have installed the Z28 brake duct kit on your ZL1 ? I think it was an option at the time I ordered mine, but decided not to. Now, I'm re-thinking it, I just need some info from you guys and maybe some pics if possible ? I don't want to have to do any cutting or drilling on my ZL1 , so hopefully it is just a "bolt on" kit ? thanks !!

As far as I recall from looking at the Z/28, the Zl1 brake ducts are fairly similar to the Z/28 ducts. Both help a little, neither are optimal because they are getting the air in the general vicinity versus right at the rotor.

Due to the different fascias and wheel well liners, I suspect you would have to do some modifications, but I don't believe there is any reason to try because they are similar enough. Stick with the Zl1 ducts, or if you are a serious track guy, get something that will get the air closer.

By the way the accessories list from GM doesn't do a good job of differentiating between the models, so all the Z/28 accessory packages like the brake kit that they sell to upgrade standard Camaros, they would list for a Zl1, but it wouldn't always apply or make sense to do.

don't waste your time...the ZL1 brake ducts vs the Z/28 are virtually the same. Get a real brake duct kit like the Quantum kit if you want to make a real difference.

The reason I ask is because at the time I was placing my order, I believe it was an option ? But I did not add it to my build list.

Amazing car ...
Your ZL1 does already have a special huge belly pan and brake ducts installed at the factory.
Here is the 2012 ZL1 Camaro brochure - mentions brake ducts at bottom. and Hyperlink to ZL1 Brochure is shown below that:

"THE LEGEND IS REBORN
Just 69 were made. But millions never forgot the first and few
original-production 1969 Camaro ZL1 models. These mythical
racehorses are burned in memory like rubber on asphalt.
Now the dream is reawakened in a machine that’s so advanced
it sees the future in its rearview mirror."
