New Member Looking for Advise on Pricing

Hello all. I'm new to the forum but not to high performance cars having many camaro's, mustangs, cuda's and trans am's in my past. It's been a fun 35 years since I got my license driving and involved in the hobby.
I found a "new" 2014 ZL1 vert at a Chevrolet dealer 750 miles away. The car has the polished wheels, navigation, carbon fiber insert, deluxe mats etc etc. oh and is an automatic which I want. White color. The window sticker is approximately $68,000 and I negotiated to buy it for $49,000. It's approximately $19,000 off MSRP . The car has 900 miles on it from the owner using it occasionally and it being taken by him to some promotional show they do weekly locally there. The car looks flawless. My question is if this is a good deal? I'm planning on keeping the car forever and using it as a weekend toy for me and the misses. May I have all of your feedback? Thank you in advance.

It's not a bad price for a convertible with those miles. BTW,when they say "promotional event" that means one of the sales reps took it home for the weekend.

Basically a new car. Price seems a little high due to the fact that prices have been falling on the high powered ZL1's and Z/28 lately.

Have you checked the comps around your area?

I would say the fair market value is around 55k

Either way congrats on the car and welcome.

You should be able to buy that car way cheaper than what he has it priced. I think 55-59 should be tops. That car is 3 years old now and the dealer has got all of his incentives back on the car to. I would play hardball with him now and tell him you are not paying anymore than that. After all he still has it and I bet there is no one else knocking down the door to buy it.

Ok thank you. So $49,000 is a little high you think? I figured $19,000 off window price and it has less then 1,000 miles and I'm the first owner was a good deal. That's why I asked the members on here for there expertise. What I've seen around here for automatic low mileage verts is all over the place as far as price. There's a 14' with 12k close to me in CTand there asking $42,000 before any negotiations. Honestly I just don't know where the price should be on the white one. Also I have to pick it up and fly there or transport from Reliable Carriers is $1,350. I just want to know I'm getting a good deal or should I keep looking. I definitely want a vert and I definitely want an automatic.

49K is a good price. Some of these guys were probably looking at the window sticker price you put in your post.
Enjoy the ride!

The prices are up and down on the ZLs but judging from the mileage I'd say the price is fair. Shop around and see whether you can find a lower price on a similar ZL with comparable mileage.

I think it's a great deal. If you do buy it, I would suggest asking for a free extended warranty that especially covers the engine. My reasoning is that these cars have an engine break-in procedure and I'm guessing since the owner, or whoever else drove the car, probably did not follow the procedure, I'd ask for a free policy that covers the engine (and entire drive train as rear ends seem to have some issues too) for extended period just in case anything was damaged. Just my .02
