Actually. Why couldn't this be done? Plug a device into the port and have a tune without it written to the ECU?

Those things just advance your timing. Use with extreme caution. They used to make MAF kits back in the day like that by putting basic resistors in the line. Advancing your timing a bit over stock is fine but if you are modded you can run into some serious issues....especially on boosted cars.

Anyone actually tried one of these? Particularly interested on feedback for LFX engine. To me it sounds like bullish!t.

Yep , I also have a couple thousand acres in Oklahoma with beach front unobstructed ocean view , I have decided to share it with a few close friends
I'm putting it up for sale as a subdevision lots with no less than 10acres each , some ago up to 36 acres
Cheap ocean views won't last long !
First come first served

Oh I know that. But I'm talking about a plugin tune that you just remove and no file is written to the ECU.
