Floor Jack - Harbor Freight 1.5 Ton Cheapy ~$58 OR Advance Auto Parts 2.5 Ton ~$79

If you want the Harbor Freight 1.5 TON cheapie they're down to $57.99 this week so good time to pick one up. Free shipping with $75 purchase. They have the 2 ton unit for $129, but I found a better deal at Advance Auto Parts.

1.5 Ton Compact Aluminum Racing Floor Jack with Rapid Pump®

Advance Auto Parts has their 2.5 Ton floor jack on sale for $109.99. Similar in construction to the 2 ton HF unit. The AAP website lists it at ~31lbs., but it's closer to 50lbs. like the HF jack. It fits under my lowered coupe with no issues so this is my new track jack. Here's the way to get this jack for $79.

AutoCraft 2.5T Alum/Steel Jack 941PV/941PV: Advance Auto Parts

1) Make sure you join Advance Auto Parts Speedperks. You get $5 coupon for every $30 spent and $20 for every $100.
2) Link through Befrugal for 10.3% rebate
3) AAP will send you a coupon for $20 off your next $40 purchase. You can double dip with their other coupon codes.

$109.99
- $11.33 Befrugal
-$20.00 Speedperks coupon
$78.66 NET

I just went in last week to get the harbor freight 1.5 ton jack for $58 with a coupon. Once I got their I was thinking about it.. aprox 4,300 lb car and 3000lb jack. I know the whole car will not be off the ground, but that is the last think I want to be worried about when working on a car. So... I ended up getting the 2.5 ton jack.

http://www.harborfreight.com/25-Ton-...ump-62309.html

It was on sale for $130. my Camaro sits pretty low. the 2.5 has a minimum height of 3 3/8". The auto craft looks good for a really good price. it lists a minimum height of 4".

I wouldn't buy a 1.5 ton jack... too small.

I would look into geting the 3 ton low profile steel jack from HF. Its a great jack for the money.

I have a 1.5 ton, but I'm making the switch. This 2.5 Ton (5,000 lbs.) will handle my V easily and it's portable for track use unlike the monster steel unit. At $79 it made my decision easy. It also clears my lowered V coupe which is 1.5" lower than my old ZL1.

AAA guy here, I change a handful of tires daily. I use a Pittsburg 2 ton jack from Harbor Freight, it's all you need. Camaros have a lot of suspension travel (excellent suspension ) and sit pretty high up so you need a floor jack with a long arm so it extends up high.

I have a Walmart special steel floor jack at home that's plenty hefty enough and was fine for my old (very low) Genesis coupe, but can barely get the wheels off the ground with the camaro. I need a new jack.

Walmart does have cheapo steel jack stands that are ok though. No probs with them.

Unfortunately is $149 vs. $79 for the aluminum model. Again made my decision easy.

Correct, for a steel unit. Not very portable. Road racers and drag racers need a manageable track jack. Steel is fine for the garage jack....I have a Good Year unit myself for that.

Only $35 more.....not bad, but not very portable. I believe that model weighs nearly 100lbs. Feel like some are missing the point of a track portable jack. Imagine lifting that beast into the trunk after a full day of road course racing. That wouldn't be my choice for track duty.

Yeah, the 3 ton HF is what I use in the garage. But bringing it to the track would be bad for my back.

Missed the part about track jack sorry. But honestly I throw it around easily but I'm a big guy thrown it in the trunk many times no biggie. With the long handle and power you can jack up your car easily one handed and fast.
