Lingenfelter vs. Livernois motorsports.

OK..

I could install the Magnuson myself and take to local shop and have it tuned or have it installed somewhere for saftey margin sake. I am still on fence on a few issues.

Been debating on having Lingenfelter install the Magnuson on my Camaro for the $11k or Livernois motorsports for $7k.

Other than the Lingenfelter name and the fact Livernois adds $200 for the warranty and does not have the Kenne Bell upgrade, I can't see spending $4k more on the install. For that 4K, I could upgrade the fuel system, install a full exhaust and Hotchkis, CAI, a set of slotted rotors and upgrade the pads.

Any significant differences in dyno results?

Pros or cons?

Livernois is 15 miles from the house, Lingenfelter 250 miles.

For one the resale in an LPE is usually the going value for the car plus the LPE package.
Their name is worth the extra price. As far as HP others will push a motor harder and give you a few more horses, however at the price of engine life. Look into it there are LPE cars out there with over 100k niles on them and they are still strong.
I am not going to knock any builder out there, but LPE has been around doing what they do longer than about any of them.
I choose LPE because I dont want to work on a car all the time, I want to enjoy it. I have a '69 to tinker with, I want this one to play in without worry.
Do your homework and go with what suits you best, that is what this car game is all about brother.
Enjoy!

I am a die hard LPE person but Livernois is a very good shop. Since it is 4k cheaper and near your house are both in your favor.

LPE is amazing but a lot more conservative and you will get a lot more $$$ back if you choose to sell.

LPE you would get 50/60 cents per dollar vs. others that would be around 10 cents per dollar and people would be more hesitant to buy a SC'd car. LPE is also very good on warranty if your close enough to get it done.

Livernois looks like they have had some good builds and is a good company. I chose LPE because of the name and the reputation. I could have thrown a cam and smaller pulley on and got bigger hp numbers but they tune their packages for longevity. Thats why you see their 650 package is pulling the engine and replacing internals when others are just adding other components and upping the boost. I think both companies are good but LPE was a good choice for me and it was the best one I could of made for myself. Good luck with your choice

I have my car @ livernois right now getting the 2300 magna supercharger, kooks headers, corsa exhaust, and cam package, This being the first car I've ever built and not knowing exactly what route to take, The guys at livernois have been awesome!! helping me every step of the way, They have a true passion for building cars, Anybody living in this area should know hands down the exceptional reputation they have!! they are more into delivering customer satisfaction than making money!

I'm running their cam in my car, they were great to deal with, always returned emails and phone calls, even when they weren't necessarily in the office. Look at their shop, did you see the pic of 6-2010 Camaro's up there for installs, there is a reason for that...if you are concerned about longevity, just make sure they understand that, and have them install/tune the car with that goal in mind. They seem to be an up and coming shop, so I wouldn't get too wrapped up in re-sale value, as several years down the road, Livernois name may command a premium also.

The base TVS2300 install package for LPE is also $8995 and not $11k.

To go to the $10995 - you get fuel system upgrades, Boost Bypass Control, Boost-a-Pump, Roto Fab CAI (LPE style), fender badges and a 3yr 36k warranty.

Either way you will have a great car - Livernois looks like they do good work but I can only speak from my experience with LPE.

Very well said. I have heard very good things about both shops. You cannot go wrong. But if it were me, my car would go to LPE. You have to do the pros/cons and what suits you best.
GOOD LUCK!!

I too, went with Lingenfelter. Worth every penny I spent! They know how to build reliable power. There are a lot of little things they do to the 550 or 570 packages that aren't listed. They work with you for other things you want to get done at the same time - I was able to drop ship parts to them and they installed them. I swapped vendors for the exhaust that LPE was purchasing for me part way into the build (I went with Borla instead of Corsa cat back). They didn't even charge me for the swap. Customer satisfaction is #1 (I imagine this is the case at either shop).

I don't know anyone who has a Livernois car.. but they appear to be an up and coming shop. They have a LOT of camaro's and appear to be recession proof as well. This says something.. If they are this busy during a recession they (both) are doing something right..

You are close enough to both.. I would do a tour of both and make your decision after your questions are answered.
