Exclamation MONSTER SUPPORT BEARING INSTALL QUESTION

hey guys I am getting ready to install the monster support bearing in a new oem slave cylinder. I already screwed my old one up trying to get the little ring off the end. it's the little flimsy one that keeps the spring and all on.Does anybody know how to remove it without tearing it up? THANKS FOR ALL INFO

Below is a link to Monster's instructions. I used a small Craftsman flat tip with a 5" blade and lots of care, going slowly. I remember I was scared I was at the very limit of bending that ring and then the whole thing popped apart. I don't recall if I used a second small screw driver to take it off kind of like a bicycle tire, but that is an idea. Hopefully, someone who has done it since I have with chime in with more specifics.
