My thoughts on Solo HFC's vs Catless downpipes

I went with the Solo HFC's earlier this year because I did not want to lose any torque on the bottom going with catless.

The Solo's were nice. The sound was great with the Magnaflow X pipe and muffler delete-i believe Sanjay and myself have posted the videos a few times.

I decided to give the other end of the spectrum a try-DGM sold me a set of Catless downpipes that have no rear O2 bungs, and added a bung for a wideband.

Got them installed, and with my Overkill Tune, and everyting else ive done, have not noticed any loss in torque. I feel like above 4k RPM (which is where i live most of the time, due to the 3.91's) I have picked up quite a bit of power. I am pretty pleased with them throughout the power band.

As for the tone/sound, i have picked up a little bit of rasp, from 2500-3000RPM, and a bit of drone from 2700ish to 3000, which sucks because my 70mph cruise speed in 6th is right at 2700.

There is a slight vibration/buzz as well at low RPM. Sanjay, Ghosted and myself are still trying to locate where/what that is.

The smell....I LOVE the smell. Especially when running E85. MMMM yeah!

The big reason why i switched was to ditch the rear O2's and tune them out, and to simplify my wideband setup. I was pleasently surprised to see and feel more power in the mid to top end, without the loss in the bottom that I was expecting. That could be due to the other modifications I have as well.

Questions, comments, concerns, outbursts?

Nope, have not.

Planning a few hour dyno session here hopefully soon. Gotta come up with the funds though.

Not great. Have never run on the drag strip before, so this is all new to me.

Having terrible traction issues, didnt adjust tire pressures, or make any changes, as I was just trying to learn launching, staging, and etiquette....

Next time ill drop pressures and start launching higher in the RPM's, as I was getting a lot of wheel hop.

I'm still contemplating putting on some resonators before the resonated x-pipe, like on the Solo high flows, to see if that helps at all with the air sounds and the 3k buzz.
I'd second the extra sounds in the pipes from driving around town. I've got MRT v1 along with catless pipes and I still get that buzz at 2700 - 3000 RPMs. I think in order to get rid of the buzz the car would have to be made a decent bit more quiet. I also don't have a resonated x-pipe though. What resonators were you thinking of adding?

I got a concern......put that 4x4 closer to the pavement. She'll launch harder, get better 1/4 mile times and it will instantly add like 10,000 followers to your Instagram account.

Well it will at least look better
