Check Engine Light

I got a check engine light today on startup. Any idea in how to get it off? I think it might be the headers.......ARH Header system.

Definitely the headers, mine also came on after awhile. Tunes would be the only cure...

A tune will not only cure the issue but will also give the engine the opportunity to take full advantage of the system. There's HP waiting to be unleashed. Let me know if you need a hand finding a good tuner in your area.

Will having the engine light on affect anything? I want to get a tune but don't want to mess with it yet until the warranty is up. But I am thinking of the Vector Motorsports stealth tune once they confirm there are no issues.

I had headers installed and a tune right afterwards. Now two days later the check engine light came on. What's up? Do I need another tune???

Doesn't matter unless it won't pass inspection, most/all places in the continental USA won't pass with a light on. Not sure what your rules are over there my friend.

OK. that doesn't matter over here. But I know after a while I'll just get sick of seeing it and get it tuned. Are you going to get yours tuned out?

I'll post some vids with mine shortly.

hmm... if its still cat efficency codes then the tuner just forgot to disable those codes, or didnt disable all of them. its not really the tune itself that has to do with the light, just whether its basically overridden or not

You will need a tune to disable the light. The tuner disables the code that initiates the light. If you do not disable the light you will have no knowledge of another malfunction. If you dont want a tune and are willing to do the work, by an OBD II scanner from autozone and clear the code every time it pops up. If you already have a tune, call your tuner and tell him to re-flash your car disabling the code.

As soon as you tune your car most dealers won't accept your car for warranty. If you wanted to protect your warranty you should have waited till the warranty was expired. Long tube headers always require a tune. Do some searches. Some tunes don't 100% correct CEL anyways.
