It's cool..everyone is new at the beginning..

A LS comes in one level

You can get a 1LT or a 2LT

Also you can get 1SS or a 2SS

the difference in the 1 and 2 is mainly leather seats, steering wheel controls and a few other features..

The LS,LT's are V6's

The SS's are V8's

Go to this site, http://www.chevrolet.com/vehicles/2010/camaro/build.do, and you can find all you should need to know about the different models.

so besides the v6/v8,
the LT is a better LS, in that you get better options?

Not necessarily better, but more options available 2SS has more than 1SS, the LS and LT, and so on..... follow the link Sir Nuke gave you and build away!!

Not really.
The higher levels, just indicate the vehicle has more comfort, convenience, or cosmetic options available to it. Things you might WANT not NEED. An LT is just as good as an LS, if you don't care about the options that come with one over the other.

The ls also has a lower top end because of the type of tires you are running. So the computer will shut you down earlier than 155.

As for the TF edition, I was in the same boat. I didn't order one, I hunted one. How I found mine:
I went to: http://camaro.spasticsquirrel.com/
Filtered for Rally Yellow, Black Interior (and for me, SS)
then I clicked on the VIN's of any dealer within the midwest until I found several that had "Transformer Special Edition" on the sticker. Clicking the VIN will show the sticker. I copied and pasted several into notepad then began calling them and asking them if they had the TF edition and if it was still for sale. One said YES so I put down a deposit and went to pick it up.

C'mon guys. Where the ripping? Where's the comments like; Hey dumb@*$ use the f*%#$@ search button!
Or the crude comments like;
LS- the car your mom drives,
LT- the car your wife drives,
SS- the car your mistress drives
Are you getting mellow now that you've had your cars for a while?
