ENGINE light on for 4th time in this Month

3 weeks ago engine light on, reduce power, and traction control
turn off 30mins later back to norm
on Oct. 9 same thing drove it to dealer she stayed the weekend, dealer states problem fixed, now Oct 17th remote start one minute and shuts off, all the same marks, left it sit for 2 hours, only Engine light on

Oh I just installed a Corsa cat-back on Oct. 14 it should have nothing to do with it

Day 1 at Dealer Service
1977 check eng light and reduce power message are on. checked codes. found 5 codes. co242-ecm indicated traction control malfunction, p2122- app senor 1 circuit low voltage, p2138-app sensors 1 and 2 not plausible, B0233- air flow control circuit short to battery, B0408 main temp control circuit to battery. trace codes c0242, p2122 and p2138 to rubbed through wires at the throttle body. repaired wires.

Day 2 at Dealer Service
p21211 code, ordered APP senor (2 to 5days for part)

At dealer cool, new part comes in they going to fix it, Service guy comes out all fixed cool let me hurry back to work cool here I go, WTF same crap different day, turn around drive back inside a start a Sh** storm, Fing thing did it again, but we fixed the code a AAP, I call GM they tell the dealer run a full diag. before you replace the ECM, now waiting for my car again, IF THEY WOULD HAVE LISTEN TO ME FROM THE BEGINING, he said those forums are no good for info we look at GM only.. yeah now I am waiting for a new ECM

What did the dealer say they did to fix it? Can Onstar tell you what the engine code is?

Dealer said it was a module (questionable) and wires on electronic gas pedal
They also said they did the A/C recall since a code came up for that
I have no idea what codes were shown, dealer didn't say
Service dept. closed today, if now it will be back in there

Thumbs up

Can you try Auto Palace or a car store of some sorts? They have the hand held OBD reader, (On Board Diagnostics) that can read the code for you.
GOOD LUCK!!

Are these cars OBDII or OBDIII? I have Autotap from from 4th gen, just wondering if that still works on these cars?

Hey check your intake. If it is loose anywhere or the airbox didn't close all the way, your MAF can go cattywompas and throw the engine/service traction

is there any sensors on the exhaust? could they be loose? usually the SEL light is related to an airflow issue most often... have you done an oil change? did they remove your air filter...Once they actually messed up the sensor on my car by doing that.

Go to an autoparts store and get the code pulled. I'm dealing with a P3028 (knock sensor)...thought it was bad gas but it keeps coming back...it's time for a trip to the dealer.

If it's a bad knock sensor....the mods wouldn't have cause it. If is isn't, I'll probably have to pay for the diag fee...
