Rear view mirrors

I absolutely hate the side mirrors on Camaros, they look like shrek ears. Is there an aftermarket alternative? Wouldn't a sleek camera that displayed on the rear view mirror be cool? Somebody please invent something!

Camaro Concept Mirrors.

No sure how 'Shreky' these are though.

What is that small silver thing at the edge of the mirror housing?

Terryfied, the Oracle concept look mirrors are your only bet. It's what I have as well.

They look nice, suit the lines of the car.

I do have two complaints about them though. I wish that they "fold", for safety's sake, because the bottom corner edge of it, is quite pointy if you catch my drift.

2nd complaint, is that if you are a tall driver (with seat adjusted far back..), the driver's side mirror, does not have the capability to adjust full swing, in order to prevent blind spots. You have to lean your body forward when changing lanes, in order to compensate for lack of mirror adjustability.

There used to be an other nice option...some dude in Europe used to make some VERY nifty looking concept mirrors, but I have never heard from him again on here.

The Oracles are nice indeed. Looks like they might sit a bit higher than oem mirrors which might obstruct looking through the turn. I still contend that a sleek, low profile camera that would project on a small screen mounted each side of dash would be very cool. Maybe even a screen that mounted in dash vents? Hmmm. Maybe I'm getting too tweaky but it's fun to be an armchair inventor sometimes

Not tweaky at all. Make it happen. There are tiny cameras and screens out there you can repurpose like the ones the tiny back up cameras. Teach yourself to solder and wire and use plenty of fuses so you're not afraid to screw up and go for it.

Write out your project then draw out your project then pick the brains of any experts you can find. I've done several projects that didn't exist until I made them exist because I was the only person that wanted or needed it.

Go for it . The hard part is getting it DOT approved . With out DOT approval you'll fail inspection If your state has one . All car mirrors are ugly. I'm sure auto manufacturers would love to get rid of them so they could charge customers more . But you have that pesky DOT Government crap to contend with.
