Convert new tach signal to work with an old tach.

I have an old tach from a 72 GTO that I found after a friend of mine died. I want to mount the tach somewhere in my 2010 SS-LS3 for nostalgic reasons. We used to drive that car all over the place until it got totaled in 1981.

I wasn't sure where to post this question because it didn't really fit into a specific category. I haven't decided where I want to mount it in the car but I found out that my LS3 tach signal won't work with the old tach. I've tried to find a converter but I can't get anyone to confirm that they have a converter that will work.

I thought this would be something really simple to find but I have contacted
20+ companies and no one has been able to supply a signal converter or anything else that would work.

Any ideas what I can buy to make this old tach work with my modern LS3 engine?

There should be someone that makes a converter for tach signals. You have tried to contact Autometer? Or even some ignition companies like MSD? Those are two I can think of that would offer something like that. It should be somewhat simple as far as doing a retro fit ls3 into an older vehicle as an engine swap

Upon a little bit of research. Look at Autometer part number 9117.
Or give them a call to get the most info from them.

It is a tach adapter for distributorless ignition systems aka coil packs. I believe one of the wires just ties into a coil wire and then converts the signal

I already contacted them and they said they don't know if it will work or not. I'm trying to find out if they will let me return it if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the suggestion.
