Adding 4 channel amp to base non Boston mylink system
Have a 2013 SS base stereo non Boston acoustics with mylink head unit, replacing all speakers adding amp/amps and subwoofer
What are my options for getting a signal to the amps, has anyone just used the high level speaker level inputs directly into the amp from the mylink head unit or is a processor like a JL audio fix86 necessary?

Get a 4 channel aftermarket amp.... That's what the kit is for.
Easier to install for you since you don't have the BA system. The kit has RCA output that you can plug on to aftermarket amp. |

I don't believe I have the extra wiring that the factory amp uses in my trunk therefore nothing to hook that kit up to

The Sub Thump FARK kit is for a B/A amplified system, and will not work with a non B/A system.

Maybe I should have rephrased it being as I've installed many car audio systems over the years. I already know how to install speakers and wire amps. My issue and questions comes down to the factory head unit. Every system I've had and installed was with an aftermarket head unit using the low level rca outputs. I'm concerned going directly from the head unit to an amp will limit the sound quality of the entire system At this point I see a couple options for my 4 channel amp 1. Go directly to the amp with high level speaker inputs. 2. Use a pair of loc off the hu to give low level RCA inputs 3. Use some type of processor in-between the hu and amp like JL audio fix86 or one of the cheaper audiocontrol units Obviously if I can go direct to the amp high level from the head unit and achieve good sq and not have annoying noise issues than thats the easiest and cheapest way. Anyways just looking for some opinions here

Understandable.
The PAC AA-GM44 harness will provide an adequate signal to any amplifier designed to accept high level inputs which, unless you tap the OEM wiring, you're going to need anyway. Adding a processor would clean up the sound and offer further connection options.

I'll grab that harness and comes straight off the deck to the amp and see how it sounds. I did my front doors today with a set of Infinity kappa 60.11cs and man is it gutless running off the head unit power. Once the amp is in I'll decide if a rear fill is needed and going to do a single 12 ported thinking trying the Infinity 120.9w or maybe something like a Alpine swr or rf p3

I love the Kappas as absolutely nothing beats them on price except the subs, nothing. The Polk Audio MM series subs have higher SQ and better specs, albeit sealed. I've never been a fan of ported, only to point to the Rockford Fosgate P2s, but the P2s have lower specs across the board compared to these 120.9w. The kappas should do extremely nicely and the only sub better in that scenario is going to cost $500+ each easily.
I haven't been a fan of Sony/JVC/Pioneer (entry level) amplifiers since well, ever actually. I knew friends that bought them growing up and they immediately replaced them. My first amps I owned and installed were Alpine, Rockford Fosgate Punch and PPI (when they were still good). Manufactures at entry level leave out components or use cheaper quality to achieve these price levels that frankly, I could never justify. The list of potential problems are endless, lack of power, faulty power rails, fried components, potential line noise to name a few and I would rather purchase a quality amp the first time. If you need something and can't wait then I suppose it will have to do though at a minimum I would suggest a high quality 5-channel from alpine, JL, RF-Punch through ebay, craigslist, diyaudio.com, etc. Off the shelf, the "lowest quality" single amplifier (5-channel) I'll recommend for our vehicle is the Alpine PDX-V9. There is absolutely nothing that comes close to the sound quality of Alpine, power availability for it's street price of $425. If you can find a nice one used, I would pay no more than $300 for it. Comparing amps in the used market is a grey area I simply don't enter as there are too many variables. Just make sure it's a quality amp, buy local or with a guarantee that it works and you should be fine. Think of your amplifier as the engine powering your Saturn V Rocket, one simply doesn't install a tractor motor when you can have the Rocketdyne F-1 for relatively the same price.

Great post snoman, that Alpine amp looks nice. Buying it from an authorized retailer is out of my budget for now. But something to consider down the road. I settled on one of the middle of the line new infinity ref amps, able to stack two coupons and got it for $255 shipped. Sonic does 60 day return if I'm not happy with it and they're an authorized dealer so get a 1yr warranty too https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...REF-4555A.html Any thoughts on these subs, killer deal buy one get one free https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...odp=gbmv7uh9d5
