I have been anticipating the new 2010 Camaro all year. I have recently been trying to complete an order for one and have been working with a local dealer. I want a Imperial Blue Metallic 2LT, Manual with the RS Package. Shouldn't be too hard right?...

I will be getting the money for purchase in approximately 2 weeks (this is after working with them since Feb). When I have the money, I want to buy my car. The local dealership though, can't order one to be here until like 2 months (will GM even be around then?...). Additionally, all the ones that have been ordered so far have been SS. After looking at the Camaro VIN Databases, most are SS models, and there are NO 2LT MANUAL!! I am prepared to go across country to get the car I want, but for some reason Chevy doesn't seem to think people want the LT models and especially the LT in manual!!

So dealerships.... THE LT ARE IN JUST AS MUCH DESIRE AS THE SS MODELS (BETTER GAS MILAGE --BIG PLUS--, AND STILL QUITE A LOT OF POWER)!!! PEOPLE WANT MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS WHEN DRIVING A NEW CAMARO (NOT ONLY AUTOMATIC...EVERY SINGLE LT MODEL, SERIOUSLY!)!!! AND FINALLY...WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE IMPERIAL BLUE METALLIC MODEL REPORTED ON THE VIN LIST? I KNOW IT'S NOT ENTIRELY 100% ACCURATE, BUT REALLY!!???

I really wanted this car, but it's just becoming way too much of a hassle. Unfortunately, I may have to buy a different car from a different company, even though I really want the Camaro. What are the chances that out of all the models produced, none of them fit that criterea? Too bad, the Camaro could have been something to help save GM.

Oh, I have been trying to get this car ordered for months. Just to further explain. They haven't called me when there were allocations, and now are saying the next allocation isn't for like four more weeks at least, then it takes another 6-8 weeks to get here.... Think my best bet is to fly to another city and drive home in the new car, but Chevy hasn't made one that has the options that I want. Ugh...frustrating....

15,000 orders can't be built in one month! And I bet I could find a few people on here that have been waiting longer than you, and will continue to wait.

THERE WAS 15,000 PRE-SOLD ORDERS. You are just ordering now? ugh, why did I read this post. . . .

... patience will be rewarded...

When I ordered my Mustang in '07, I placed the order in February and got it in May... all based on timing and allocations. Remember that this is a car that was already in production for three model years. Chevrolet is doing their best to build the thousands of dealer cars needed, as well as the early orders for customers... and keep the quality high while they do it... it will be worth the wait !!!

Ordered mine 12/4/08 and haven't heard anythng yet. Remember the factory has only been building these cars for 1 month now.

So, it sounds to me like you haven't even placed an order for a car yet correct? But you are complaining because GM hasn't built the model you want in the configuration you want it to be set up? It's not as though GM has 10,000 Camaros in various trim levels just sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for buyers. They are building them as quickly as quality controls will allow at this point and if you don't have an order placed with a dealer they aren't going to build YOUR car!

All the dealers will soon be receiving their v6 camaros for the Official May launch. You could call all the dealers in your local area and tell them exactly what your looking for. If one of those dealers just happens to receive one in your configuration, maybe you could get first shot at purchasing it? (Although I believe all the "Launch Vehicles" will be automatics.)

Other then that you have to realize that probably 16,000 orders have been placed ahead of you and the longer you wait to place YOUR order, the longer you'll be waiting for the car.
