Cam install...CEL's

installed a cam into my car and now the camshaft position sensor circuit is going off. This means that the car is difficult to fire up. Any idea on where the sensor is and what the possible issues may be?

cam sensor is on the timing cover, did you remember to plug the harness back in at the base of the timing cover by the oil pan?

Also what gear did you install on the front of the camshaft. If you swap camshafts you need to make sure you get the correct front gear or you'll have these issues. Did you install a single bolt cam or triple bolt cam?

Yeah... the 3 bolt for an 06 LS7 seems to work about the best. You'll probably still have some minor start up issues though.

Boosted, what cam did you install? I'm in the hunt for a cam myself and am looking at the GMPP LS stage 2 which was originally designed as an upgrade for the LS7. I just don't know what all i am going to have to get or how much this whole thing is going to cost me. any info you all could give me would be much appreciated.

This statement is correct, the LS2 will not work either.

Agreed the LS7 is the way to go...
