For the LEOs here...

How do you carry your badge off duty? I bought a badge wallet but it's like sitting on a brick.

I'm about to go back to my old slim wallet and just buy a separate badge/ID case and hope I don't forget it when I leave the house.

I cut the back off my wallet badge and use a product called Aaron Alpha, which is like a super duty super glue and attach it to the holder panel. Makes it slim and doesn't get the tell tale pin back pushing through the leather. I use it as my everyday wallet so I don't have to carry two.

I probably have the same one.

Great wallet, just really bulky.

The agency I work for issues a small badge that's pre cut to a small bi fold wallet. Basically holds the badge and blue ID and that's it. Its very small and slim, doesn't have any money pockets, just
a clear pocket to hold the ID. After a few years the badge and wallet has bent and is the shape of my leg.

After looking, mine is engraved Perfect Fit genuine leather too. Mine is engraved on the front

I also carry 2 wallets.

+1 except for the bending to the shape of my leg.

....... I have big legs from lifting and when I sit my pants get tight in the pockets which lead to the bend. My waist is a 36 but I have to wear size 40s so my front pockets can be used. Only reason it bent

This is what I'm using now...literally an inch thick with the badge in it.

Just curious, but what use is the badge when you're off duty?

I am wondering the same thing. Are you guys required to carry your badge all the time?

My agency's policy: if you're going to carry your weapon while off duty, you need your ID, badge, handcuffs, and an extra mag on you.

It's one of those just because you're off duty doesn't really mean you're off duty things. I still have a responsibility to take action if something happens in front of me, and I'd rather not be without proper identification when all the responding officers know is that there's a guy with a gun.

My advice would be a lanyard/chain neck holder for the badge. Due to the study below, our department policy is badges on belts are a no go. Just keep it under your shirt until you need it.

My dept requires that we wear our badge if we are carrying a gun. I wore mine on a chain around my neck till the chain broke. I have a belt clip for now till I get un-lazy and go buy another chain
