I don't drive my car often, 14K miles in 7 years. But when I do, it's hard miles at the drag strip.

Wednesday, after a couple passes, my idle RPM jumped up to 1200 while in gear and felt a little choppy.

I put the car on my trailer and took it home.

Any idea what it could be? No CELs.

And no, I don't have a data log.

Snapped the throttle shut at high RPM, timing jumped a tooth? Just a guess though

Possible but I hope not. Don't want to tear the front of the engine apart.

That was my first thought. Vacuum leak will rob boost, my power was down. Logical thought. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find where the leak might be. Going to take it in to a local shop for a smoke test and check out the computer.

Vacuum leak would show itself in your fuel trims.

Did you check and see if there was oil in the plug hole ? That will and can cause a misfire. It comes from a leaking o-ring in the valve cover . When I changed all my plugs some had a small amount but I have heard of some leaking badly enough to cause a misfire . Just a thought , pull the coil off and look down in the hole to see .
