Muffler Delete no likey.....

Like the louder tone, but do not like all the decel popping. I dont mind a little of that, but this is too much. What are y'all doing instead? Dont want to do full exhaust at this time. Want it loud, but not so much decel backfiring.

If you're interested in voiding the warranty, decel pop can be tuned out. It's called deceleration fuel cut off. Not sure what it is in HP tuners

A stock tune has a lot of DFCO (Deceleration fuel cut off). You don't hear much of it with a stock exhaust, but it'll really show up once you start changing stuff. It's a love/hate thing - my car sounds like a bunch of Cartel sicarios blasting off a few rounds of automatic and shotgun fire every time I lift off the throttle. And I'm good with that. But I could see where many wouldn't be.

If you want the muffler delete, but not the DFCO, you've gotta tune it back some. Wait till you do headers and high-flow or no cats - you ain't heard nothing yet.

I know, my V had long tubes and high flow cats into Magnaflow mufflers (and those are quiet) and it was pretty loud. But this 1LE with no mufflers is no bueno for the wife. I probably could live with it.

Yet an other lesson learned here.

Time and time again, the same lesson.

On these cars, for sound management and tuning of it, you work your way, front to rear(nose to tail), NOT rear to front.

I control the decel pops with my right foot...short of putting straight pipes back from the headers this setup works and is inexpensive...and will wake you the f'up if your sleeping in the lane beside me...my kind of traffic control!

I had that deceleration pop tuned out as soon as I could. Hated that annoying sound.

Was it annoying for you, from the inside, or outside? Or both?

What I'm driving at is, what may sound annoying in the inside over time, may be music to ears, totally different note on the outside. Of course, vice-versa too.

You'd be surprised how many owners here, have never had someone else drive their car, with them following from behind in an other car, or even a simple, aggressive drive-by, and get to hear what their riide really sounds like from varying distances, surfaces, and load.

Perhaps yours did truly sound like crap, just making sure that you fine tuned your exhaust sound, using the right methods.
