HELP! Will my radio issue become a HVAC (air cond & heating) issue?

I posted in another forum about my radio issues (2013, stock/base radio). The radio died on the way to work - was playing a CD, and it froze. Couldn't eject, radio station displayed but I couldn't change station, volume control was gone. Got to work and shut off the car and removed the key, opened the door and turned the key on again and it all worked fine. Then on the way home, 10 min into the drive it did it again. Once I got home, repeated the shut off procedure and it worked fine again. Yesterday I drove it all day without using the CD player (that sucked) but it never froze up or stopped working.

Then I read that this is just the start, soon my AC and heating will be affected. No one seems to know the cause ... or remedy, like it's a given thing the radio/AC system is going to die and there is no fix.

All I could find out is how easy it is to remove a stock stereo, but I don't want to have to go aftermarket and lose by bluetooth of steering wheel controls.

I'm going to call the stealership Monday to see if they've dealt with this before, but I wanted to see if I could get some information I could better trust first.

Any Ideas????

Never heard of any of this before. Just an FYI you won't lose your bluetooth or steering wheel controls. If you lose those it's because you didn't pick up the module for the steering wheel. The only thing I lost was initiating a phone call from the steering wheel. I have to touch my phone or the touch screen on the stereo. Bluetooth with a aftermarket headunit is much better . A lot more functionality than the stock head unit .

So what would be a decent (fairly basic) head unit and about what do they run?

Do some shopping on https://www.crutchfield.com/S-nC8WLmmHn3S/ . Punch in your make and model and away you go. Pick the stereo you like and they add the accessories you will need to make things functional.
