Considering dropping RS package for my LT

im thinking about dropping the RS package for my 1LT ABM. primarily because the color. i think id rather have the color and could then later on add much of the RS features. my dealer told me since im in the 1 spot that if i dropped the RS i would be pulled right away once he gets allocations hopefully tomorrow or tues. what do you guys think? think it would be better to give up the factory RS and get the color that will be no more, or hope my order is pulled on the last day and keep both?

I'd give up the color before I gave up the RS..... IMO the RS is what makes the car ....

The color is more important.. But you've gotta have the rally sport package too.. :/

Just curious what makes the RS a must-have thing? The headlights? Bigger rims and summer tires? Spoiler?

Me, personally, I didn't want the halo headlights or the bigger rims and summer tires. I like the look of the regular headlights and will have the dealer put a spoiler on for me when the car comes in.

Just wondering what the major appeal is for people.

Have you considered looking at dealers that may have your specific model in stock or currently on order for their stock? IMHO the color along with the packaging (RS or base) makes a huge difference. I saw an ABM with the RS package and it looked amazing, saw one without, and it looked less amazing. I think you're going to get a lot of people pushing for the RS over the color.

I gotta tell you, everyone in my region drools over my red jewell tintcoat. They go on and on about how much better this color is than the other colors they see on the new Camaros.

I personally like ABM (it was the color of the Camaro I test-drove). But if I was in your situation I'd go with my second choice color (mine was IOM).

IOM was actually my original color (saw a 2SS IOM at unveiling ) but then i saw an ABM and said thats the one.

I ordered my 1LT ABM on 10-22-09 and I am already at 3000 with a TPW of 11-23-09. If you have to have that color I would go for the color and add the rs options later. If you don't mind not having the color you want just wait it out and see if it may happen to go your way. Let your heart guide you on this one.

Having seen over the last few months a few dozen Camaros I have yet to see one without the RS package, It really adds to the look of the car no matter what color, You have to drive at night with the HID lights to see just how good they are...
