Cockpit Car Cover?
Has anyone found a exterior roof-windshield-window sun cover specific to our Camaro5s? I'm in CA and the sun super heats the roof and interior on sunny days.

I do use it before I reach my car, but I'm also concerned about heat damage to the interior. My black El Camino delaminated a few headliners, cracked 2 dashboards, etc., one of my later trucks dried out the leather steering wheel cover. And even with remote start, on the hotter days, it takes a good 15 or more minutes to get the interior cooled down and stabilized to where high blower isn't needed. Then when i park with lower blower settings, I forget to set the blower to wfo so it cools faster when I remote start, since GM didn't put climate control on these cars. This is the first car I've had in almost 20 years without climat control.

My PopTop arrived yesterday so I put it on last night. When I went out this morning the condensation was heavy. Took off the top and the windows had some condensation on the inside. About one minute with the defrosters and I was all clear! No wiping the mirrors or windows at all. I am thrilled!
Unrolled it tonight and after I dragged it to the rear I went back to check the front and thought, "How did it get so dirty?" But it wasn't dirt, it was about a thousand gnats. ![]() Takes some goofing around at the back to get it stretched with the way our trunk is, but I'm sure it will get easier as I use it more.

I've had my PopTop for a few days now. I've used it once overnight and twice in the daytime parked in the sun at work. I'm getting good at putting it on and taking it off. It makes a huge difference in interior temperatures. I really like it not being scorching hot on the inside and that it's not frying interior panels and electronics, like my radar detector.
I'll get some pix later, but I found it easy to run the lines under the spoiler.

Here you go. It's windy so there is some air under it.

Fred, I'm beginning to think the least wear would be to leave the cord stop set and just open the trunk lid to slack the tension. When re-installating, closing the trunk lid would tension the cover. That process might minimize cord rubbing.

Buy a shun shade and crack the windows, park facing sun & use the remote as you walk towards the car with blower already on medium. Voila! Even better you can save money & you cool Camaro won't look goofy in the lot.

That's been my method til now. I'll continue to use it for most short stops. I'm just using the cover for all day parking at work, probably just for the summer. I couldn't care less about what it looks like in the parking lot. The fashion show doesn't start til I get there. LOL
