P0449 Evap Solenoid replacement

I have been trying to replace the Evap vent solenoid to clear code P0449 with no luck. I removed the rear passenger side wheel to try and access the part without dropping the axle, but it's near-impossible. The access hole is so small and narrow, and I can't see anything when my hand is in there trying to find the tabs on the side to remove it.

I've watched a couple you tube videos of guys removing the part without dropping the axle, but I tried for 4 hours and gave up.

Here's the video

The dealer and other places will charge me 4 hours labor to drop the rear axle. I'm not a mechanic and think this would be way over my capability. Are there any other suggestions prior to me taking this to the dealer or auto shop to do this myself?
