YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS ! BUMBLEBEE

This is so crazy it's funny. I was stopped in the same area again tonight and the cop said I was doing 71 in a 50. and wrote me a ticket. I was so careful .I made sure my plate was flipped up I had it on cruise at 54 a tractor trailer with chickens passed me. I had just passed 2 sheriffs setting there talking. I just knew he was going to pull me over because at the red light he was behind me looking at his computer and after the light turned green he pulled me over, does anyone have any suggestion what I can do I just want to enjoy my bumblebee and I am being targeted. I am 57 yrs old and have never had a ticket in 40 yrs I just do not know what I can do. I WILL FIGHT THIS. When he pulled me over the first thing I asked was, WHAT AM I BEING PULLED OVER FOR ? AND HE WOULD NOT ANSWER ME AND ASKED FOR MY LICENSE AND REGISTRATION I EVEN TRIED TO SHOW HIM THE WARNING TICKET FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE AND SAID TO HIM DO YOU THINK I'M CRAZY ENOUGH TO COME THROUGH THE SAME AREA DOING 71 IN A 50 AND ALL HE SAID WAS HAVE A NICE DAY. go to court, but before you do; put in a written request for the radar readout and calibration.

should win you the case.

First you may need to check and make sure your speedometer is correct, then I would suggest you take it to court. but it is still his word against yours...

and his word needs some proof... remember, innocent until proven guilty through undeniable evidence.

They won't give you one and they're not required to. You won't win the case, best you can hope for is a deferred judgment or to pay a lawyer to get you off but many times, lawyers in traffic court=guilty.

Thanks, but I do not believe in ether incident Radar was used. How can I know for sure if it was ? and also wouldn't it say so on the warning and the ticket ? There is nothing on the warning ticket or the ticket about speed by radar.

But shouldn't NOT having a ticket or any violation in 40 yrs have some value.

This is what you do.. Set it for court, if he doesn't show, the ticket's tossed out. If he does show, ask to see his radar/laser certificate and log. You are entitled to see that in court.(We have to keep daily logs on testing our laser/radar units to make sure they are working) Every six months the laser/radar have to be calibrated and we get a certificate that says this. If he didn't catch you on either and just paced you, ask for his vehicle speedometer calibration, if he doesn't have that and he paced you, you will beat the ticket.
If he does have his paperwork in order for all, you are screwed. Just plea no contest and hope you have a lenient judge.

Yes it should but it depends wholly on your attitude in the court. You might try contacting the county attorney's office and asking very nicely, for it to be dropped. Doubt it but it's possible. I got one of my tickets deferred by working with the county attorney. They were very understanding.

The police don't have to show you the radar, or even use it. The cop themselves can be the speed detection unit due to their experience in gauging speed. They can say they say you going what they estimate to be 71 mph and it's going to hold up.

Everything StreetJudge said is basically also true. Good luck! Though in my state (Iowa) they don't have to submit the calibration logs.

Neither Nikki or myself have been pulled over once yet in her Yellow 2LT. Even without a front plate. We've encountered police on the street and usually just get a thumbs up or a "nice car!" from them.

I think the police in my area are more interested in pulling over riced out civics and integras.

With all this going on I keep the digital speedometer on at all times so shouldn't that be double protection that your speed is correct.

Bill, if what you say is true, then do what streetjudge has suggested and you will beat this.

If you go to court, the cop will almost never show.

If the cop does show, follow streetjudge79's advice.
