Identify this Camaro model year

What is the model year of the Camaro featured in the Papa John's fire department pizza commercial?

1971, assuming it's his Camaro.

Google confirms it's a 1971. The only reason this is readily available is because there was a deal a while back where Papa John got his Camaro back and offered free pizza to every Camaro owner, so the model he owned is public knowledge and easily available with a Google search, even if you can't look at it and know the year. :P

Yeah, I was a little confused by that too. I know there was a '70 1/2, but I thought it was 71 all the way through...
I could be wrong though. I don't know the Second generation too well.

He paid $250,000 to find his original car he sold to start his business. The one in the ads is a copy he had built.
