camaro's GVWR

Me and Doc was talking about the weight (i told him wrong btw) and thought that a thread should be started. On the sticker (has a pic not sure how to post) it says the GVWR of my car is 4648.
Does anyone know why the car weighs so much more than its suppose too.
The options are 2SS/RS polished wheels and rally stripes.

pretty sure you wanna look for curb weight not GVWR. GVWR is when the car is the car at max load capacity

Weighed mine at a truckstop on the scale. My 2SS manual with a full tank of gas is 3,880 lbs.

If you look at the WIKI at the top of the site, it has all those stats for ALL the models.

Curb weight (lb/kg):

3750 / 1705 - LT automatic
3741 / 1700 - LT manual
3769 / 1713 - LS automatic
3780 / 1718 - LS manual
3913 / 1779 - SS automatic
3860 / 1755 - SS manual

All the listed weights can vary. I have a 1LT auto with the 19" polished aluminum wheels and with about 4 gallons of gas it weighed 3700 lbs on the nose. When I sat in the car where you can see the scales it went up exactly to the amount of my added weight. Certified truck scales are usually good but this scale seemed to be right on. I figured my wheels weighed less than the 18" steel wheels and accounted for some of the difference. Oh GVWR stands for gross vehicle weight rating.

The numbers above are what GM puts on all the documents, and what is on the sticker on your door, if you want or need a "GNAT's A$$" wieght, then take it to a scale as has been done, document how much gas is in it, who is sitting in it at the time, and how air is in the tires, if it means that much........
