Opinions on selling price of my car? 2015 SS auto flood, rebuilt title.

I'm currently working a lot of hours and am coming to an impass on what I want to do with my savings. Either go boost on my car or try to buy something already built. Unfortunately, my car has taken quite a beating. It's been hit twice and flooded in Harvey. One impact on the drivers side front tire, the other on the passenger side door/quarter panel.

In the flood, the water on got up to about an inch in the floor board, but insurance companies were totaling any car with water in them. Only damage was the carpet. It's now a rebuilt title car.

It runs, drives just fine. No issues with handling, no electrical issues, nothing wrong as a result of any damage. You wouldn't even know by driving it.

I've got some mods on it, putting down 509 wheel through an auto. 41k miles.

I would think 14-15k would be about the best I can get, what do y'all think? I'd appreciate any input

That would be ok but honestly, you may have to go lower depending on the extensiveness of the dents.

You should list it has been in a flood. You can state "Car was in Harvey but water only got 1" in floor board".

Definitely list the rwhp and mods to target first to let enthusiasts know you know about Camaros. More likely to get a buyer.

you would take quite a financial hit selling it.have the dents from the accidents been fixed, carpet replaced, etc. so there are no musty odors or evidence of a rough past?if so,you might be better to keep it and boost it.a salvage title makes a lot of people run away from buying cars unless its a cheap price.

Honestly, with that history and a rebuilt title probably 12kish private party, and maybe 8-9k to a dealer (if they'd even want to bother buying it to send to auction)

There's no dents. Looks fine. I'm not ready to sell yet. I've kind of accepted I might be best off keeping it and making it my toy car for a few more years. But I'm also looking at sinking a lot of money in it to get the numbers I want. Thanks

Why are you considering selling?

I'd keep it and boost it. Sounds like it'd be a hassle to sell it with it's history and you'd probably take a big hit getting rid of it. As long as you know it's reliable you might as well keep it and play.

Yes everything has been fixed. Cosmetically looks brand new, drives and performs as it should. No excessive rust, no odors. Carpet was replaced after flood. I've played with the idea of keeping it long term and turning it into a drag car. But it'll take a lot of money to get it there.

I like to go fast. I'm not a die hard fan of any particular car. Right now I'm looking at spending over 20k to get the car where I want it to be. I still owe on it too. So I could definitely find something else that's already built for cheaper than the combined costs of mine.

Yeah I figure it would be a hassle to sell, especially for a decent value. It's definitely reliable so there's that at least.

I'm assuming you were paid by the insurance for the initial flood loss? If so I assume your still ahead of the game overall? So selling for less might not hurt that much due to the car's history? I like others would keep it if it is solid which it sounds like it is.

I'm afraid I'm still behind on it. I don't know an exact figure for what I owe right now but it's around 18k. They offered a 25k value for the total but the buy back was 8k, which was ridiculous. It is solid, no problems whatsoever, looks like a normal Camaro. Just entertaining my options going forward. Sounds like I'll probably be sticking with it.

I think you will be lucky to get $10K being a flood vehicle with a salvage title. I would keep it and build it.

I guess I don't completely understand. They offered 25K and you decided not to file the claim? Is that offer still on the table, because if it is I would jump all over that, take that left over 7 grand and put it down on Gen6 SS or Gen5 ZL1 and call it a day.
