AC issues after Cam install

I recently had a BTR stage 3 cam shaft installed. Everything has been working fine and just the other day I noticed the AC stopped blowing cold air. The cold air started to feel warm, after messing with it for a while I noticed the heat still worked. I figured it might need a recharge or some freon, after getting it checked out it looks like the compressor and condenser went out. Is this normal in a stage 3 cam shaft? I am wanting to get it fixed but not sure if this is something that will continue to happen. Anyone know any big names for these products that are worth the price?

You sure it’s not the blend door? Are both side of the car blowing hot air when on a/c

No real reason for a cam to cause a problem with ac, other than rough handling during the install.

Rockauto has a GM compressor for about the cheapest of their options so that is what I would use. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ompressor,6628

Why the condenser? Is it damaged or leaking? Very unlikely 2 things failed at the same time.

I thought it was considered standard to replace the condenser when replacing a failed compressor since it's next to impossible to flush the new style condensers.

This is how a cam affects ac:

The condenser/tubing may have been damaged during the swap. You have to pull it to get the cam in/out

Ask the shop that gave you the quote to fix it IF the condenser and/or its tubing is damaged? If so have the shop that did the cam swap fix it for free.

One other thought ...was a new underdrive balancer installed with the cam as that affects the power to the compressor.

tubing is fine guessing it was just the time for it.

Back in the R4 compressor days I might agree with you but even then we didn't replace the condenser but rather the receiver dryer. These new compressors it's usually a bearing issue resulting in a burned clutch, or a broken shaft in the compressor. Rarely if ever do I see debris in the refrigerant. But going with your not being able to flush theory, there's little to no difference between the condenser and the evaporator core in design. Who the hell is gonna pull the dash and replace that for a failed compressor? No one

That might be why I don't see replacing the condenser as required for the warranty on the compressor that I used to see.

My first guess is that they didn't replace the seals when they removed it, or possibly damaged it upon removal. Working one day and not the next doesn't sound like a compressor failure, but probably a leak. Is this the same shop that did the cam swap?
