Tire size for stock steelies??

I saw the sticky for the 2010 on the 18" wheels but it is showing for 8-8.5" wheel, but the Wiki says the stock 18" steelies are 7.5"?

At any rate I am running 245's all the way around but was thinking of going wider but stay square.

Suggestions on size??

Thanks
FR

Stock tire size on my 1LS was 245/55/18

Steelies should be 18x7.5 and I think you can squeeze 265/50/18 the widest on the steel rim.

Check your tire options at that size, it might be an odd size where your options are limited and tire cost is high.

I'm happy with 275/40/20 on each corner. I think on the 18s, you might as well stick to the stock size, unless you go for a wider 18" rim, or upgrade to a larger diameter rim.

I have been trying to find it but I read a thread somewhere that 255's made a decent difference in handling over the stock 245's. I wish I could find some kind of comparison out there.

Yeah but I think the 255s that would fit would throw your speedo off more than recommended. I think it gets the overall size smaller, making your car think it's going slower than it really is.

Would I have the same problem with the 265/50's you mentioned?

No, they were within the tolerable range. -0.62% difference in overall diameter.

But I would still double-check with the shop doing the install before ordering tires online to see if they will put a 265 on a 7.5" rim.
