Camaro out and about stories

I've had the car for a week. So far, I've been flagged down (while driving) twice to show the car and answer questions. I've had a few thumbs up and horn beeping from other drivers while sitting in traffic. Every time I stop to get gas people approach me asking questions. Today it took 30 minutes to get gas. The people I've met range in age from the young to the very old. Men and women. It's been great meeting so many Camaro fans.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but please share your on the road experiences since purchasing your Camaro.

Yep same here I get people every day giving me a thumbs up, people will follow me to a gas sation, or a store and ask about my Camaro the majority of people cannot believe how great the Camaro looks.

Drove from Norcal to Pomona for the NHRA finals last weekend, every stop for gas or food resulted in a crowd. On Saturday parked next to a pickup at about noon and didn't think anything about. Came out at about 4:30 to get our coats and head back for the last round of the days qualifying and the folks in the pickup said they had been waiting (and drinking) since 2:00 for us to come out so they could see the car inside and out...came back to leave at 7:00 and they were still there (drinking of course) saying they stayed to stand guard over my car. They literally skipped most of the days festivities to stand guard (i mean drink next to) my car... Hit the In and Out Burger joint a few miles from the track an hour later and you guessed it there they were in line right behind us...

Had some kids taking pictures from their minivan so I smoked the tires and gave them a little show. They all cheered as I pulled away. Got'ta love it.

I feel like a Rock Star everywhere I go in this car...after 6 months, it just never 'gets old' to me...

I love the feeling of driving the coolest car out there...

I just have to make sure that I look as good as, or better than, my car everytime I'm out there 'drivin' it like I stole it'...lol...

I'm going on 2 weeks tomorrow .

Where I live, it's common to park next to a car worth 2-3 times my Camaro... especially at my work. I have to pass through security guards as I enter the parking structure there, and I usta drive my homley truck, and of course get the good ol' "ho-hum" wave through. Now i get this huge smile , nod and I'd swear i saw her do a lit'l jig today. And now the porsche behind me gets the good ol' "ho-hum" wave through.

I LOVE MY CAMARO, AMERICAN MUSCLE

I think the best conversation I've had so far was with an "old timer":

"It's about time, I hope this is the start of GM getting back to where it belongs, at the TOP. Maybe they need to hire young people like yourself to wake up and get with the times."

Me:"I'm 40, sir."

"I'm 72, you're young and I'm tired of watching GM slowly die. I'm not sure who designed the Camaro, but I bet it wasn't an old guy in a suit from Detroit."

Me:"The designer is South Korean and I'm not sure if he owns a suit."

"Yeah, but I bet he was young!"

Me:"You're right, he's my age. Wanna take a test drive?"

"What?!"

I let him take it around the block with me in the passenger seat and his smile was ear to ear. Fortunately, nobody was injured but he did try to give me gas money.

Thats Awesome,

You probably made his millenium... When I was still working as a paramedic, I used to love to sit and listen to the very elderly in my ambulance. They have seen sooo much in their lifetime.

Took mine out for a drive after work yesterday. Stopped at a traffic light behind a newer model Mustang. The guy was moving his rear view mirror around to get a better look. He gave me a thumbs up in the mirror.

I've had the conversations at the gas station, my friend and I parked ours together at a local park the other night and in 30 minutes of bullsheeshing, 3 cars pulled in to take a look.

Also had the minivan full of kids stop in front of me at the mall, every kid in the van had their cell phone out taking pics, lol.

Old guy in a Datsun 240z, like a mid 70's, gave me a thumbs up, which I returned. I love the old Datsuns.

Yesterday, had a MILF, she was hot, in a tricked out Miata, stop next too me and give me a thumbs up. She about broke her neck as she pulled forward, she couldn't stop looking at the car, lol.

Those are just the recent ones, hehe. The car does indeed draw a crowd!

...this baby is a head turner! Everywhere I go, just like everyone else, I get a thumbs up. Was at my brothes pad the other nite and his was just getting home and he saw my car and just told me "get out of here, quick teasing me with the car. This is the best car GM has ever made". He was all into and stood outside just looking at all the details of the car for at least 20 mins....Wednesday I saw a hot chick behind me pull out her iPhone and take a picture of my car. This car is just awesome, can't go to the store without people being around my car when I come out.

The other day I wound up at two different police stops for belts and registration. Both stops the officers asked me to put down the windows and talked at length with me about the car. They seemed to like it. Made my day to be sure
