Is my rear differential going bad?

Changed my rear diff oil a couple of days ago and found this chunk of metal in the oil where the drain cap is, car runs okay but I’ve kinda noticed recently that in 4th and 5th gear when I punch it the car kinda just revs and isn’t really accelerating like it should. Car is a 2013 1le with 60k miles

Don’t have s definitive answer other than saying any chunks of metal coming out of the differential can’t be good. I would say go with your guy especially if you feel something isn’t acting right

Would replacing the ring and pinion be the best option and how much would something like that cost?
