Burnt electrical smell & Evaporator

Hi All!
I've have faint burnt electrical smell in my 2015 SS, noticeable when entering car. Smells like toasted circuit/transistor board. After three weeks A/C went out. Two different shops says it's the evaporator, but none said anything abut burnt wires.
What could be cause of electrical smell? I'm worried mechanics don't find anything while fixing A/C and I have to drive a car with burnt electrical smell.
Thanks,
Eric

2014 RS EVAPORATOR

I'm wondering how old your car is? I have a 2014 RS with 23k miles on it and the evaporator is full of holes. I have a call in to GM but I'm wondering if this is normal. I have a 20 year old truck that I've never had to do anything to the AC and my 16 year old Toyota was the same. I don't even know how long it was leaking but the gas was apparently leaking into my cabin. I've had headaches for weeks.
