Anyone else think they should have reserved the cowl hood for the SS only?

Just wanted some opinions..I think it looks really good but I think that maybe the cowl hood should have been something to distinguish the SS from a V6...not to hate on the V6 by any means or atleast a more aggressive cowl...

Nope..need atleast something else bodywise...maybe even a different spoiler..mail slot isnt enough!!

if that would of been the case, and I'm glad it's not. You would of paid lot's more money for your SS. This way all models share in the cost.

the 4th gen SS had the hood/spoiler/badges/and wheels all only available on the SS

Good call my man! I think that is what they should have done. Cowl hood for the V-8's only. (Just my opinion.)

They probably should have, but commonality keeps costs down. Adding a new set of industrial die presses for a non cowl hood would have raised cost and slightly slowed production time.

SLP built the SS not GM though contract with SLP performance as well as the WS-6 Transam. Price would definitly go up if you limit parts to only one model.

slp had options but they did not BUILD the ss or ws6..they BUILT the Firehawk

You incorrect, read below. I owned one, ordered from GM and went through the SLP upgrade prior to deliveray at the dealerships.
