Does the 6th gen TPMS work on a 5th gen (2010)?

Found a set of stock 6th gen SS wheels and tires with sensors for my 2010 RS. I know the offset is slightly off, but otherwise they fit. Not worried about slighly different offset on a street car. My bigger problem is the sensors. Anyone know from experience if 16 sensors work on a 10? Ty

I could be wrong, but I believe 6th gen uses 433MHz vs 315MHz in our 5th gens...

Thank you both. That’s what I was afraid of. Great deal if I could install the wheels/tires and drive, but if I have to dismount 2sets of rims, swap sensors and remount/rebalance, it just doesn’t make sense anymore

If your sensors are original then it's time anyhow.
6th gen SS wheels are way nicer than 5th gens.

Agreed they're nicer, but not nice enough to put $1,200 into a DD

Being I enjoy owning now six sets of Camaro OEM wheels I invested in an Autel 601 TPMS Programmer. With this I can use either rubber or metal TPMS sensors, one single sensor can be programmed either 433 or 315. I pay less than $24.00 for new sensors. The Autel 601 will handle just about every car built world wide. With the free updates, I usually update the 601 each fall for new models.

Glad I stumbled across this thread; I got a 5th gen - just about to pull the trigger on some 6th gen ZL1 wheels and now I got a Q - will my fifth gen TPMS sensors swap into the 6th gen rim? - They pretty much a standard component?
(digressing very slightly - we got different frequencies in UK for TPMS, key fobs radios etc etc.... Why'd you guys abandon good ol' English standards?...LOL

Yeah they are physically the same, just different frequencies.
I bought new 6th SS take offs and also bought new tps sensors while i was at the dealership.
The tire shop programmed in the new GM tps frequency when mounting the new tires.
