Isn't it odd the # of forum members that have damaged their car?

Seems like every day there is someone else posting up about their car either getting hit or damage being done to their car. I know that it is probably a very small % of all Camaro's sold..but it seems to be a high % of Camaro5 forum members? Someone else mentioned that they hope there is no omen with the Camaro...I don't think there is (at least hope not) but really wondering why so many wrecks/damage are occuring (queue up the twilight zone music)??

It's going to happen and now we are hitting the winter months etc. Plus this is a large site with a bunch of people with their cars..so its just going to happen its nothing odd. What would be odd is if nothing was happening.

I'm not really understanding why Chevy is not offering all season tires as standard or as a package, winter has just started (Dec 21) and I have read where alot of the stock Pirellis can be a handful in cold and snowy weather. Come on Chevy!

Hmm, they've gotta do something because alot of daily drivers would like the peace of mind knowing there tires are gonna grip in most conditions.

I live up in Maine and when I bought this car I knew what kind of tires it came with. This is not a surprise.

Anyone who lives where it snows should know better.

Do Ferrari's come with all seasons? No. The reason I was told by my dealer, why they come with summer tires was because Chevy considers this a sports car and needs sports car tires. They have a recommended winter tire, but that's about it.

I just dont think it's fair that people in cold areas have to suffer with poor grip, i mean a bad injury or death could result to the driver or someone in another vehicle being hit.

And that is something that the buyer should consider before buying the car. That's not on GM

If you live in a state that rarely sees above freezing for the majority of winter you should invest in winter tires and wheels. By the time you have to replace either set of tires you come out ahead because they are getting less wear than all seasons you ride on all year around.

To be completely honest, my wreck was my own fault, I am a stubborn Sicilian who had to have his car out of the garage even though the lot was plowed like a blind man had done it.

In reality the Yokohama Spec-Xs I installed on the stock 20" wheels actually performed very admirably in the snow, in fact this is probably the BEST handling rwd car I've ever driven in the snow. It really ate through it without a problem, and I never even came close to getting stuck.

They actually worked fine that was more of an emotional response. They barely even saw the snow by the time i screwed it up, I hit the side of the garage on the way out....
