Stainless works cat-back resonator delete?
I got the stainless works chambered round muffler (formerly the retro chambered) cat back system. It's got a deep tone and it sounds really good at high RPM. But at low to mid range it's just not throaty anymore.
This system had the round chambers for resonators as well- the same as the mufflers. Has anyone deleted these? like it? Also, does anyone know a good place I can just buy the exhaust pipe that will work? |

not throaty anymore? the sound or tone changed??
I have the retro chambered and it sounds exactly the same as it did since day one. open it up and see what the inside looks like, there's not much in there that could alter the sound but if there is I'm sure youd have codes pop up for ur o2's cuz ur cats would plug/coat up first. sounds like something else is going on but if u want to swap the pipes contact stainless works for a straight pipe replacement. |

From my understanding, as stated about, the retro chambered does not have any resonators or anything in the pipes in the system, the pipes being "chambered" are only "dimpled" in the tubing to give it the sound it does, the "dimples" in the tubing just disrupt the flow to give it that chambered sound. My friend has it on his ZL1 and it sounds just like it did when new. So there is nothing in the system to change the sound.
