Whats it look like inside resonators on 2SS

I've tried searching and maybe over looked it. Has anyone cut open or looked through the resonators on the 2SS LS3 exhaust to see what it looks like in there when they changed there exhaust? I thought I read somewhere that the pipe is wavy. Is the pipe perforated, wavy, perforated and wavy or what? I'm putting a Borla Stinger axle back on my 2SS when it gets here. I guess I'm one of few but I prefer the H pipe for a bit more deep sound. (plus its really not that much hp. gain with X pipe just a bit more mid range power) But can't decide on whether to have the resonators cut out. I actually want to hear the exhaust rumble a little inside so I assume taking off the resonators will solve that. But I don't want to change the original exhaust sound to much outside of making it deeper which the Borla Stinger will do. And the Stinger is a pretty straight through perforated pipe. Any feed back on this appreciated. Thanks

Not sure on the LS3, but my L99 had the below. Wavy, not baffled. Surprisingly, the chambers remain separate the whole way through as well.

Thanks Tomato. Surely the LS3 wouldn't be retricted any if the L99 is only wavy. Probably wouldn't hear any difference with exhaust sound or cabin sound actually if its straight through like that and just wavy. Thanks again

I just broke my resonator. I was crusing and lets say the exhaust was probably pretty hot when the suspension took a good jaring from a drop in elevation. Now it rattles real bad. Im ditching it for an x-pipe on wednesday.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see how it was designed...I believe it is just packed with sound insulation to reduce cabin noise. I ran mine several ways before ending up with Magnaflows in place of the resonator and some tiny glass packs in place of the mufflers. It's tough to get good sound out of these with the damn cats...

Do you like the sound

I bought an xpipe like youres and am going to have it installed this week if the weather clears. I have the mufflers deleted right now will it be to loud with the xpipe and no mufflers at all and if so what kind of glass packs are you running? and will any glass pack they have at the muffler shop sound about the same if I cannot locate ones like you have? Thanks

I have CAI cold air intake and Diablo trinity 93 octane tune and not hurting for low end torque at all. Runs like a bat out of h#ll if you no what I mean. No loss before I installed these. I just want a louder version of what I have now without spending 1200.00 dollars. I do not think you should have to for the sound I want.

I think the sound is perfect for the L99. I ran for a while with simply the muffler delete, but the drone with AFM was terrible. The car is still quiet inside, but it has a great note out the back. The glass packs are just cheap ones that my muffler shop had in stock. If you have the L99 and do not have the AFM programmed out, I highly recommend a similar set up - with both the Mags in place of the resonator and some sort of muffler in the back.
