Clutch life in V6 LS/LTs

A few months back I purchased a 2012 V6 LS with the 6spd manual transmission with 56,000 miles. How long do the clutches typically last on this model of Camaro under normal use?

It depends on the driver
My wife who has been driving stick cars since the 80s had a Ford Focus she bought new with 215000 on the original clutch
My point is in normal use it could last for the life of the car

My salve cylinder failed around 55k, since I had the trans out I replaced the clutch at the same time. The oem clutch looked like it had 50% remained. I am at 109k now and figure around 150k i'll need another. Not many choices for lfx clutches.

LFX....what were the symptoms of your slave cylinder failure? Also...when the factory clutch had 50% life on it....approximately where in the clutch pedal travel did it start to engage? Close to the top?

Hi Everyone. Clutch pedal dropped to the floor. One shop said the slave cylinder leak and soaked the clutch plates. There looking at $2500. to install a kit is this to much? Also can anyone recommend a descent one to put in. Daily driver and seldom race but mainly highway travels. The car is a 2011 R/S LT2 with only 64 k on it seems this too early for the part to fail. Thanks everyone for your help. Brian

My throw out bearing went on my 2014 ls at 75,000. I don't blame the car but rather the 30,000 miles of bumper to bumper traffic I sat in on a daily basis. Lots of shifting and clutch work. The shop said the clutch plates were ok but I had them just replace everything while they were in there. The price out the door at a local transmission shop was $1500.

2010 camaro V6 LUK clutch kit, everything completely failed at 110k miles, had a buddy with a lift, new LUK kit was about 520$, all in all probably spent about 550 to install myself.
