Thumbs down at the beach

So i just got my camaro yesterday from the dealership...it was pretty clean for the most part..except for the few swirl marks from the goobers that cleaned it upon delivery...I decided tonight to drive to an old friend near huntington beach and show him what a real car was...everything was great...then I noticed it was getting cold outside etc. and the windows were fogging up...so i turned on the defoggers/defrosters etc and the windows were clear...but after a pass on pch...it was back....and I was like WTF...why is my windshield all fogged again?..then I heard his gf in the back saying "oh yea I get that all the time...it's the salt spray from the waves at the beach" ...guess i'll be washing my car sooner than i thought.

question for anyone....i know i shouldnt polish the car for a few months at least...but would a light waxing do any harm at first?...or should i wait a few months as well?

The swirl marks the Goobers left were probably from a buffing if it's anything like they did to mine... I took mine home, washed it with Dawn, mild mix, and then used Turtle Wax Ice liquid on it until I can do the full clay bar treatment... I've been using it on my Harley for a while and I like it...

And Congrats on the Real Car...

I already hosed it off and did a light wash..I've got most of the necessary meguires products and a pc 7424xp...but i dont want to use it yet until the clear coat is cured completely...but damn that sure pissed me off...good reason never to have a nice car by the beach..you'd have to wash it every damn day!

Zaino seems to be a favorite product around here, but I like the Ice and it's lots cheaper... Yes, most of their products are spray on or a squeeze bottle with a soft sponge applicator. I have yet to ever have any kind of residue left on my vehicles... easy on, easy off... I use good quality micro fiber towels, once, and then wash them...These towels are never used for anything else, like wiping the dogs feet or wiping up some spilled coke on the garage floor... Ice has touch up stuff, a clay bar kit, and several other products... I can't quote the names or product numbers but they items are there for the taking...

Pic in the driveway was right after my initial wash, and the one on the roadside was after a trip the other day. We stopped to take some pics after 250 miles of driving...If you look above the tire, the streaking along the top of the fender is wispy cloud reflections... The shine is deep and lasting...

no harm in polishing and waxing your car now. The paint is fully baked from the factory.

+1 Moose knows his stuff man! I'd say ZAINO right away for sure and if you get the polish/wax, don't forget to use it on your wheels if you have the 20" polished!

I'd personally go with Claying myself. Makes huge difference.

Wax it now, clearcoat and paint is baked on from the factory. Car is ready for wax from the moment it rolls off the assembly line.
