Steering Death Wobble
So Saturday i took my '11 SS M6 out for a drive and as I was rounding a corner, I hit a bump and got an awful death wobble, like I was driving an old dodge pickup truck. Jacked up the front end when I got home and checked the tie rod ends, wheel bearings, etc, and found nothing obviously wrong. The only thing with any movement was when I put a pry bar under the tire to check ball joints and I noticed a lot of up and down movement from the strut mounts. I also noticed a groaning noise when turning the wheel at low speeds. Has anyone ever experienced this? The wobble happens when you hit bumps in the road, or when darting from left to right like you're checking for a bad bearing. Car drove fine a week ago

You might want to post this in the suspension section, might get an answer better.

I have never experienced a steering wobble from a shot strut mount. Usually it's just clunking when hitting bumps, or clicking, grinding, or tactile binds and releases when steering. I suppose if it is blown right out and shaking around up top it could translate to steering wheel shake.
