I want to order the ARH system but I don't know what else I'd need.
I finally decided to go with the American Racing (long tube) Header system for my SS but I don't exactly know what else I need for the install. I want to do the entire exhaust system but I need some suggestions.
Can I assume I just need to order the ARH long tube system with a complete cat back system or what? I'm kinda leaning on the Borla side for the exhaust but I could sure use some suggestions. any suggestions with links will be greatly appreciated.

fyi - there's 2 versions of the headers. one has the x-pipe which basically means all you'll need is an axle back Borla. the other is headers minus the x-pipe meaning you'll need the cat back Borla. i'm going with cats to keep everything legal and to keep the decible level low. as far as the Borla system, i'm torn. touring or stinger (s-type)? i'm guessing since i want quiet at cruising i'm gonna have to go with the touring since there's headers involved. if it weren't for the headers i'd go with the stingers! my biggest concern is drone at cruising speed. i'm also thinking about the GMPP Exhaust axle back and ARH headers........

okay, what about this system? I've heard good things about JBA.
thinking about this http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/JBA-6813S long tube headers kit along with this http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/JBA-403113 cat back system. is this all I would need from the engine to the rear?

You will need to cut a portion of your stock exhaust pipe for the ARH and Borla to connect. It is very simple but you will need about an 8-10" piece of your stock exhaust. If I had to do buy a system now, I would go with Texas-Speed as they have a complete system from headers all the way back and it is very nice and no need to cut stock exhasut. I have the ARH and Borla S Type and love it but the Texas-Speed system wasn't available at that time.

ARH has a new system out that bolts in to the stock mid pipe without any cutting.

it's the version without the x-pipe.
also remember to look at quality. JBA uses stainless, but not T-304 stainless. this means JBA will rust....just not rust through. i have been researching this for a month and am convinced if 2 things.... 1- Kooks and ARH cost more for a reason....fit, design, performance but mainly QUALITY! 2- the vendors in this forum will give you the BEST PRICE and SUPPORT period.

I installed the ARH system on my 2010 SS. No problems at all. I used the long tube headers w/3" pipes back to the stock tailpipes and mufflers. Sound great at WOT and it quite when just running around town. Only problems is the AFM that seems to kick in and out at low speeds. A tune will cure that. Good luck in your decision.
