Stripe Packages
The stripe package that you can get on the car, is that something done by the factory or is it done by the dealer after they receive the car? Reason I'm asking is because I have yet to see a camaro with a stripe package sitting at a dealership, but just about every one I see on the road has it.

The stripes are done by the factory. I've seen a few Camaro's that had stripes on them sitting at a couple dealerships. I have yet to see a Camaro with stripes on the streets.

The stripe package you get from the factory aren't worth what you pay for them. If you get a car, have the stripes painted on. When I started looking for a car and saw the ones posted on the sites I thought they were really nice, but some of the concept car had the stripes painted down on the nose of the car and I thought that was the way they came for the factory. WRONG!! Sold mine to a guy in SA, TX Had mine painted on and what a difference. The stripes really make the car.

I love yours btw. I have a black SS right now, but before I ordered, I was stuck between orange and painted black stripes (just like yours) or just black. Ended up choosing black.

chevyss, I have to agree, yours are some the best painted on stripes I have seen. Still that mailslot presents a problem for me as my Camaro is ABM and I would do white stripes. Your black stripes help to conceal the black insert in the mailslot.
Painted on stripes is the only way to go.

even though I have the factory vinyl stripes, if you can afford it and have access to a shop that is really good enough to have them painted on, that is the way to go, ESPECIALLY if you want black stripes, as the factory black vinyl stripes are on glossy, and chevyss's gloss pianted stripes are the way to go for black stripes. My cars stripes are white, what I should have done was to have them painted on using Diamond White paint, which is a current GM color they use on Caddy's.....in fact, its the stripe color that they are putting in the 2011 Indy Pacecar next year, and they are painting them on, so I am told.

So from the factory the stripes are only on the hood and the trunk, not over the nose or the spoiler?
The stripe package from the factory is $470; about what would I be looking at to have them done after market? |
