Long tube headers and codes
Hi! My name is Shawn in Austin TX. I just purchased a 2010 Camaro SS!!! The Previous owner installed speed engineering long tube headers with cat and muffler deletes.
I personally am not a fan of the way it sounds but until I can coughs up the extra funds, I want to get it running right. Current codes are P0137 P0157 P0174 P219B P2270 P2272 I looked these up and a lot of them have to do with 02 sensors and the car running lean. The previous owner did not tune the car, I am assuming I need to purchase a tune (which one do you all recommend?) Also, would y’all recommend replacing spark plugs? |

If nothing has been done to the car, (tuning, changing spark plugs) yea you do need to get a tune for it as the AF ratio is going to be off because of the headers. You can still drive the car without a tune, but it is not recommended. I would get in touch with "dynosteve" who is a vendor on here, and get a tuner/tune from him. When you purchase from him, you get free upgrade tunes for life. Plus you will pick up a bit more HP over not being tuned. And yes as it is now, it will be running lean until you tune the proper AFR. The plugs my tuner used when we did JUST the headers and CAI were NGK TR55's. Good luck.

Yes, you need a tune in order to get rid of those codes and get the car running correctly.
As for a tune, check out Pat G. He's not far from Austin (about 2 hours) if you want to get a tune in person, but he also does remote tunes and is one of the best LS tuners. Here's his webpage: https://www.patgtuning.com/
